A self-contained multi-day expedition down the spectacular and scenic Zanskar river gorge. The trip takes you down extremely desolates and remote Zanskar gorge with walls rising a few thousand feet from the river bed. The trip ends at the mighty Indus river. This combined with hikes and visits to various monasteries in the Zanskar and Ladakh region makes this a fascinating trip to the last truly lost horizon of our shrinking planet. This run through grade III-IV rapids enhances the experience of journeying down this otherwise un trekkable gorge.

Zanskar and Indus river rafting and adventure tour

Day 1: Delhi - Leh

Arrive Delhi fly for Leh, Arrival assistance and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure To acclimatize high altitude. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Leh

Sightseeing to Stok and Matho. Morning after breakfast drive to Stok palace which is 14 km from Leh and takes 1 hours drive. Stok palace is the newest palace of Ladakh, which is built in 1830. In this palace there is a great collection of ancient royal ornaments, Thankas and Statues. The present Royal family of Ladakh lives in this palace.

Day 3: Leh - Lamayuru - Kargil

Set out after an early breakfast, travelling west of Leh towards Kargil. 36 kms from Leh, we reach Nimu, the confluence of the Zanskar with the Indus. We pass the derelict fort at Basgo, the painted caves at Saspol to reach Khalsi where the road crosses the Indus River and slowly winds its way 27kms up to the beautiful gompa at Lamayuru.

Day 4: Kargil - Rangdum

Early morning drive to Rangdum, which is on 12,000ft high from sea level.A spectacular drive past Panikar and Parkachik, with magnificent views of the 7000 metre plus Nun and Kun massif, hanging glaciers and large meadows.
